Paknet Limited a fully owned Subsidiary of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) was formed in March 1999 and started commercial operation in January 2000. It is now the biggest Internet Service Provider of the Country.

Besides Internet Paknet also provides data communication services like Clear Channel data links, Frame Relay and Digital Circuits on Optical fiber cross connect systems etc.

PTCL was running its Internet Division through its region by the name of Public Data Network (PDN). On December 1999 the PDN region was dissolved and all the assets and Liabilities were transferred to Paknet Limited. Paknet made a fresh start with an Internet customer base of 6000 as of January 2000 and successfully achieved the target of its first year business plan of 50,000 Internet customers. Currently Paknet has a customer base of more than 1,30,000.

The Company commenced its business in January 2000 with a balance sheet size of over US $ 7.0 million. Currently it has a revenue base of approximately US $ 5.0 million per annum and is most likely to double in the next fiscal year keeping in view the market demand of Paknet products and expansion plans of the company.
